Fischer Computer Systems

is located in Angwin California which is approximately 60 miles north of San Francisco in the famous Napa Valley. FCS was started in 1980 by Randy Fischer to service the NorthStar brand of micro computers and to market the SEC-PC board, designed and built by FCS. NorthStar computers has been out of business for many years now and FCS probably HAD the most parts for that antique computer system in the world. As of July 1, 1995 FCS has Dumped All (well almost all) NorthStar related parts.

Over the years FCS has stayed currant with the Micro Computer industry and now concentrates on PC compatible systems based on the Intel Pentium Processor running Microsoft operating systems (WFWG, Win95 and WinNT). Most of our time is spent consulting, specifying systems, assembling and installing them. We also supply ongoing system support for our many happy customers.

A significant part of our business is related to our SEC product line. The SEC (Shaft Encoder Counter) products allow the connection of Quadrature Encoders to Computers. These products are in use world wide in mapping applications and other areas where precise measurement of mechanical position is required. We manufacture, market and sell the SEC product line along with support peripherals.

We also designed and produce a product for measuring the speed of Paint Balls. This product is used by people who play the game of Paint Ball to ensure that the Balls are not traveling to fast. This product is based on the Motorola 68HC705 processor and is a great example of the kind of product that we are able to produce. We are actively seeking other possible products that would be ideal for this kind of solution.

We sell, repair and upgrade PC compatible computer systems along with general consulting work associated with these systems.
